Macaroon’s what a divine little dessert to set your taste buds wanting for more. I was so pleased to have had my first authentic french sweetness from the fine Josephine who has been a lovely customer of Memoirs. The texture had a hint of crispiness and the added softness once you break into them. DIVINE!!!

An un-qualified pastry chef, her intimate understanding of patisserie stemmed from her inspirational aunt, who developed the family’s own Parisian macaron recipe.

The one in the background is pistachio, and was particularly impressive for its natural, subtle nutty taste. Not a drop of artificial pistachio essence to be found! It’s almost impossible to find good macarons in Melbourne.

As I was leaving the macarons beckoned. Given they are a recent addition to Breadwell, I asked about who made them. Apparently they have a French girl who supplies them – very promising!
